Due to weather conditions, last week's track meet for Wahkiakum High School was moved from Naselle to Randle. For women's track, Mayleonna Casey took first in the 800M with a time of 2:45.46 and took first in the 1600M with a time of 6:06.07. Clara Hogue was second behind Casey in the 800M with a time of 2:56.87. Sam Dela Cruz took fourth in the Women's 100M with her personal-record time of 14.17 to round out the girls' individual competition. In team competition, the quartet of Casey, Hogue, Dela Cruz and Anna Vik took second in the Women's 4X100M Relay with a personal-record time of 57.23.
In field competition for the girls, Dela Cruz took first in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 31 feet, 2 inches; and Hogue took third in the Women's Long Jump with a personal record distance of 12 feet, 11.25 inches. Haileeahna Nielsen took fifth place in the Women's Javelin with a distance of 82 feet, and Vik had a personal record in the Women's Discus with a distance of 67 feet, 5 inches.
For the boys, Noah Sandhu took third place in both the Men's 1600M with a time of 5:24.55 and the 3200M with a time of 12:17.49. Sandhu's time in the Men's 1600M was a personal record, while Cody Vicars' time of 5:43.86 in the same event was a personal record as well. Other personal records for the boys included Jayden Stoddard's time of 12:04, Mason Waldek's time of 12.72, Caleb Vicars' time of 13.87, and Ethan Purley's time of 14 minutes in the Men's 100M. Vicars and Stoddard also had personal records in the Men's 200M with times of 29.17 and 25.79 respectively. While Vicars had yet another personal record in the Men's 400M with a time of 1:05.36, Chandler Tawater had a personal-record time of 2:42.84 in the Men's 800M. In team competition, the quartet of Stoddard, Waldek, Joseph Merz, and Robby Chandler took third in the Men's 4X100M Relay with a time of 49.77.
In field competition for the boys, Waldek took first in the Men's Triple Jump with a personal-record distance of 33 feet, 10.75 inches and fifth place with a distance of 16 feet, 2.75 inches in the Men's Long Jump. Chandler's distance of 127 feet, 4 inches was good enough for third place in the Men's Javelin, while Kyle Gonzales, Jason Shervey, and Hurley had personal records with distances of 111 feet, 5 inches; 91 feet, and 67 feet, 2 inches respectively. Joseph Merz tied for fifth in the Men's High Jump with a height of 5 feet. Rounding out the personal records for boys in the field were Kyle Gonzales, Ethan Hurley, and Cor Hoogendoorn's respective distances of 34 feet; 32 feet, 8 inches; and 31 feet, 3 inches in the Men's Shot Put. Gonzales, Chandler, and Hoogendoorn also had personal records in the Men's Discus with respective distances of 96 feet, 7 inches; 89 feet, 2inches; and 46 feet, 9 inches.
With the team off for spring break, Wahkiakum track and field returns Tuesday, April 22 at Mossyrock beginning at 1:15 p.m.
