Clatskanie High School's track and field team got plenty of top-five finishes last week during the SD2 League Meet at Dick Manick Field. For the boys, Ayden Blackshire and Mickey Simpson took second and fifth in the Men's 100M with times of 12.37 and 13.00. Daylon Gutierrez, Aidan Bailey and Blackshire finished second, third, and fifth in the Men's 200M with times of 24.48, 24.64, and 25.20, and Bailey, Gutierrez, and Zach Swinford wound up taking first, second, and fifth in the Men's 400M with times of 54.54, 56.78, and 1:03.82. Ethan Rigsby and Jason Miller took second and fourth in the Men's 800M with times of 2:36.36 and 2:40.75. Spain Bocanegra settled for a fifth-place finish in the Men's 1500M but managed second in the Men's 3000M with times of 5:18.68 and 11:36.69. Quin May and Swinford took second and third in the Men's 300M Hurdles with times of 52.92 and 54.10. In team competition, Ryder Gorley, Bailey, Blackshire, and Gutierrez took first in the Men's 4X100 Relay with a time of 46.93. The team of Gavin Larson, Braydon Top, Bailey, and May took third in the Men's 4X400 Relay with a time of 4:14.48, while Swinford, Miller, Rigsby, and Bocanegra finished fourth with a time of 4:33.57.
On the field side, Blackshire finished third while Bocanegra settled for fifth in the Men's 12lb Shot Put with distances of 34 feet, 4.25 inches and 33 feet, 9 inches. In the Men's 1.6kg Discus, Tristan Bocanegra came in second and House finished fifth with distances of 103 feet, 6 inches and 75 feet, 1 inch. Gorley finished second in the Men's 800g Javelin with a distance of 129 feet, 6 inches, while Tristan Bocanegra managed fifth with a distance of 114 feet, 2 inches. Top, Gorley, May, and Larson took second, fourth, fifth and sixth in the Men's High Jump with heights of 5 feet, 4 inches; 5 feet, 2 inches; and 5 feet, 1 inch (tied). Gutierrez, Top, and Larson finished first, second, and third in the Men's Long Jump with distances of 17 feet, 11 inches; 16 feet, 7.5 inches; and 16 feet. Larson and Top finished first and fifth in the Men's Triple Jump with distances of 33 feet, 3.5 inches; and 21 feet, 9 inches. Finally for the boys, May and Gorley took first and second in the Men's Pole Vault with heights of 10 feet and 9 feet, 6 inches.
On the girls' side, Simone Ellen and Kiera Caceres finished third and fifth in the Women's 22M with times of 31.5 and 33.64. Lacey Willis and Josephine Byrne finished first and fifth in the Women's 400M with times of 1:06.32 and 1:22.22, and Mai Lowe and Angelica Todd finished first and third in the Women's 800M with times of 3:06.62 and 3:31.44. Mai Lowe and Angelica Todd took third and fifth in the Women's 1500M with times of 6:43.25 and 7:24.37. Caselyn Thompson took first in the Women's 100M Hurdles with a time of 24.27, and Lacey Willis and Maria Altafina came in first and third in the Women's 300M Hurdles with times of 57.29 and 1:01.48. In team competition, Grace Hadley, Paytan Ward, Altafina, and Caceres took second in the Women's 4X100 Relay with a time of 58.90. Thompson, Hadley, Ward, and Caceres took second in the Women's 4X400 Relay with a time of 5:21.60 while Byrne, Ellen, Lowe, and Todd took fourth with a time of 5:40.49.
For the girls in field competition, Elle Tompkins, Sami Stebbins and Alainah Perkins had first, second, and fourth-place finishes in the Women's 4kg Shot Put with distances of 27 feet, 6 inches; 25 feet, 1 inch and 21 feet, 7.5 inches. Tomkins, Perkins, and Stebbins finished first, second, and fifth in the Women's 1kg Discus with distances of 79 feet, 1 inch; 73 feet, 9 inches; and 59 feet, 4 inches. Julianna Erickson and Tompkins took second and third in the Women's 600g Javelin with distances of 83 feet, 11 inches and 75 feet, 3 inches. Willis took first in the Women's High Jump with a height of 5 feet, 1 inch, while Thompson and Ward took third and fourth in the Women's Long Jump, each with distances of 12 feet, 6 inches.
The team's next meet will be the Tenino Twilight Relays at Tenino Beaver Stadium on Friday, April 11 beginning at 4 p.m.
