C.C. Stern Broadside launch at the Longview Public Library

The Koth Memorial Gallery at the Longview Public Library is proud to present Against Your Departure, a new exhibition on view through the end of April 2025. The show features a stunning collection of letterpress poetry broadsides, inspired by the Pacific Northwest Poets Laureate Broadside series.

A special poetry reading and broadside launch event will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Longview Public Library. The C.C. Stern Type Foundry will debut Against Your Departure, the sixth broadside in their acclaimed series. This latest edition is illustrated and printed by renowned artist Jessica Spring and showcases a new poem by Elizabeth Austen, Washington Poet Laureate Emerita.

Located in Clatskanie Oregon the C.C. Stern Type Foundry is a non-profit organization that provides public access to the largest collection of type casting equipment, tools and technical manuals in the Pacific Northwest. They are artists, writers, printers, and type casters who are working to share knowledge and preserve cultural heritage. They offer arts and cultural heritage programs that serve printers, designers, literary and visual artists, educators, and the general public.

Limited edition prints (edition of 50) will be available for purchase following the reading. The Koth Memorial Gallery is located on the lower level of the Longview Public Library. All events are free and open to the public.
