All ages are welcome to participate in the April Spring Fling Reading Challenge. Simply drop in to the library, pick up and complete the reading challenge tracking sheet, and return it by Wednesday, April 30 to earn prizes. The more you read, the more you win.
Applications for the Teen Internship may be picked up from and returned to the library Wednesday, April 9 through Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Interviews begin the following week and will be completed by Sunday, June 1.
This Saturday, April 5, from 2 - 5 p.m., the library will be having another cookie day. Drop in, grab yourself a cookie, and enjoy it while working on the giant jigsaw puzzle, chatting with a friend, etc.
Story Time is Wednesday, April 9, from 10:30 – 11 a.m. These special 30 minutes are a time for young ones to enjoy a time of reading aloud. Story Time remains popular and continues to grow, but it ends Wednesday, May 28, so there's a little under two more months left to enjoy it. Story Time is held in the lower room of the Pioneer Community Center at 125 Columbia St. For more info, call (360) 795-3254, or drop in to the library and we'll help you out. Story Time takes place every Wednesday, so come on in and enjoy.
Youth Dungeons and Dragons is now every Wednesday of the month from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Community Room, below the library, for 6th through 12th graders. However, because it's been so successful, all slots are full at this time but plans have been made to start another D&D group in May as, thankfully, we now have enough adult Volunteers. If you'd like to join the new group, give us a call at (360) 795-3254, or drop by the library.
Community Book Club meets the third Thursday of every month from 3 – 4:30 p.m. The current selection is "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek." Look for it on Libby and at your library. Contact Joyce Orr by emailing Joyceorr@gmail.com or simply stop by the library. The book club meets in the Community Room below the library, and their next meeting will be Thursday, April 17.
Every day, the library has quiet, hands-on activities for all ages. There are a variety of craft activities along with search and find coloring sheets. The activities get changed up all the time with a fresh look, so come, see, and partake.
If you don't have a free Cathlamet library card and/or Libby app, which are both free for all Wahkiakum residents, stop in and we'll get you set-up. As the kids say, it's "easy peasy!" The library is located at 115 Columbia St. and is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 – 5 p.m.
