Friday, Feb 28, is Free Cookie Day from 2 to 5 p.m. at the library. Just drop in and grab yourself a cookie or two. Enjoy eating your cookie while working on the jigsaw puzzle or one of our ongoing craft activities. Maybe even chit-chat with a pataron while you enjoy the cookie. We look forward to seeing you this Friday.
Wednesday, March 5, from 10:30 – 11 a.m. is Story Time. This is a special 30 minutes where young ones can enjoy someone reading aloud to them. We’ve had strong interest recently, with many enjoying this time in the library. Story Time is held in the basement of the Pioneer Community Center next to the library. Do you have questions? Just call (360) 795-3254, or drop into the library and we’ll help you out. Story Time is every Wednesday until May 28. Come on in and enjoy.
Youth Dungeons and Dragons is every second and fourth Thursday of the month from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Community Hall (below the library) for sixth – 12th graders, with workshops scheduled on the first and third of the month from 6 – 7:30 p.m. However, at this time, you cannot join because we are filled up. We need one more adult Volunteer to help out. If we get one Volunteer we can begin a new group of D & D. Interested? Give us a call at (360) 795-3254 or drop by the library. Thank you.
Make and Take Craft activities. Every day, we have quiet, hands-on activities for all ages. A variety of craft activities are available, along with search and find coloring sheets. The activities get changed-up all the time with a fresh look. Come, see, and partake.
Monthly book staff picks. For adult-types, “Founding Brothers” by Joseph Ellis. For teen-types, “Flip the Bird” by Kym Brunner. And for kids in general, “How Do You Spell Unfair?” by Carole Boston Weatherford and Frank Morrison.
Have you heard of the Libby App? It’s free. Do you have it on your phone? Kindle? Laptop? If you have a Cathlamet library card, you can get the Libby app for free. Just stop in to the library and we can help you out, it only takes a minute or two to get you going. Try it. You may like it.
Last but not least, we always have an ongoing jigsaw puzzle for you to work on in the library. Sit with a friend or work alone; it’s quite relaxing. Come on in and enjoy the library, located at 115 Columbia St. The library is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.
