Did you know your Library has a Community Book Club? Oh yes it does! Do you know when it meets or where? Well, here you go: The Community Book Club meets the third Thursday of every month in the Community Center below the library from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Our current Community Book Club reading includes Percival Everett’s novel “James”, the retelling of Huckleberry Finn and the original classic “Huckleberry Finn”. The novel “James” tells the story of Huckleberry Finn from the perspective of Jim, Huck’s enslaved companion. Contact Coordinator Joyce Orr for more information joyceaorr@gmail.com
This months Staff Book Picks honor Martin Luther King Jr. day, Holocaust Remembrance Day and National Hobby Month. Additionally, we have several indoor nature crafts available all day during library hours. Last week's craft was to trace and cut out your hand print and make a bird on a branch picture to take home. This week we are adding a nature collage made with dried seeds, twigs, leaves and grasses to take home. We will add another craft each week, in addition to the increasingly popular perpetual puzzle.
You might also like to know that the library has a quiet seating area with a light therapy lamp to use while reading or pursuing any number of quiet hobbies. The library is open Wednesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Fun fact: our Library issued 14 new library cards in December.
