Update:

On May 23, 2024 the Eagle published an article about a 174-acre harvest the Department of Natural Resources was proposing in the Lane and O'Conner Creek watersheds in Naselle. These watersheds supply drinking water to Naselle. Many residents gave feedback about their apprehension over the logging and due to the pushback DNR officials decided to postpone the Fields Fir auction until a public meeting could be held. The meeting will be at 4 p.m. December 5 at the Naselle Community Center, 14 Parpala Road. DNR staff will be present to answer questions regarding the new configuration.
