Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The nights are growing longer, the air is crisp, and a familiar excitement is building in Cathlamet. Yes, it's almost time for the annual Christmas Lighted Parade. Please mark your calendars for Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., when our streets will come alive with the magic of the holiday season. The courthouse tree lighting on Main Street is at 5 p.m., giving everyone a chance to enjoy that event, visit Santa, and then get ready for the parade.
The parade route will start at the Elochoman Marina and wind through downtown Cathlamet, offering excellent viewing spots for everyone. Rain or shine, be sure to arrive early to secure your spot and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
For those wanting to participate, just about anything can be entered, such as tractors, cars, trucks, trailers, boats, horses, ATVs, and people. Just add lots of holiday lights. The entry fee is $5.00 although first responders and veterans are free of charge. Parade entry forms can be found at the Wahkiakum County Eagle, Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce office, and the Bank of Pacific. You can also download the application from our Facebook page @wahkiakumlightedchristmasparade or contact us if you would like more information at wahparade@gmail.com or Paige Lake at 360-269-6737.
This beloved tradition brings together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. So, mark your calendars, bundle up, and join us for this enchanting celebration of the holidays. Let the Christmas Lighted Parade light up your night and fill your heart with the warmth of the season. Thank you to the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this event!
