Gluesenkamp Perez stays, Trump wins

Wahkiakum County saw a 71 percent voter turnout at this year’s election. Lee Tischer won 62 percent of the votes for County Commissioner #2. Running unopposed, Dan Cothren won 95 percent of votes. Running unopposed for Pacific and Wahkiakum County Superior Court Judge Position 1, Bernard Veljacic won 97 percent of votes for both counties. Robert L. Jungers ran unopposed for Wahkiakum Public Utility District Commissioner #2 and won 96 percent of Wahkiakum votes.

Jim Walsh won 61 percent of votes in Wahkiakum County and 59 percent statewide for Legislative District 19 State Representative Pos. 1. For Legislative District 19 State Representative Pos. 2, Joel McEntire won 64 percent of Wahkiakum and statewide he brought in 61 percent of votes.

For Congressional Representative, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez recieved 47 percent of Wahkiakum votes and 51 percent of votes statewide. Chris Reykdal received 42 percent of votes in Wahkiakum County for Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction and 53 percent statewide.

For Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, Dave Upthegrove received only 34 percent of Wahkiakum votes and 52 percent of the statewide votes. For Washington State Auditor, Pat McCarthy won 58 percent of statewide votes but only 41 percent of Wahkiakum votes. Nick Brown received only 40 percent of Wahkiakum votes and 56 percent of statewide votes for Washington State Attorney General. For Washington State Treasurer, Mike Pellicciotti won 57 percent of statewide votes but only 41 percent of Wahkiakum County votes. For United States Senator, Maria Cantwell received 44 percent of Wahkiakum County votes and 59 percent of statewide votes. For Washington State Secretary of State, Steve Hobbs won 41 percent of Wahkiakum votes and 59 percent of statewide votes. For Washington State Insurance Commissioner, Patty Kuderer won 39 percent of Wahkiakum County votes and 57 percent of statewide votes.

For Supreme Court Justice Pos. 2, Dave Larson won 65 percent of Wahkiakum County votes and 67 percent of statewide votes. Steve Gonzalez ran unopposed for Supreme Court Justice Pos. 8, receiving 98 percent of Wahkiakum and 97 percent of statewide votes. Sheryl Gordon McCloud also ran unopposed for Supreme Court Justice Pos. 9, receiving 98 percent of Wahkiakum and 97 percent of statewide votes. For Washington State Lt. Governor, Denny Heck received 39 percent of Wahkiakum County votes and 56 percent of statewide votes. For Washington State Governor, Bob Ferguson wins 56 percent of statewide votes but only 39% of Wahkiakum County votes. Donald J. Trump wins the Presidency with 51 percent of nationwide votes and 56 percent of Wahkiakum County Votes.
