Stop by the annual Living Well in Wahkiakum event on Friday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hope Center, 320 S. 3rd Street, in Cathlamet.

Representatives from the Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington (AAADSW) and Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) will be available to answer questions about open enrollment and other matters affecting seniors. There will be three Medicare 101 presentations during the event: at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:15 p.m. Call 360-751-0497 to sign up, as space is limited. The Washington Department of Health’s Care-A-Van will also be on hand to provide Covid vaccines to patients, insured or uninsured, and flu vaccines for uninsured patients. Kaiser or Tricare insurance is not accepted. Bring your vaccine card/record or visit https://waverify.doh.wa.gov/ to get a copy sent to your phone.

Cowlitz Family Health Center’s new mobile unit will be offering blood pressure checks and triage and Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will be on hand to assist people with food and cash assistance programs.

More than 20 representatives from organizations in southwest Washington will be there to provide information about lead testing for children, septic system care, employment services, mental health and substance use programs, legal aid, and more.

A light lunch will be provided.
