To The Eagle
For those of us who watch local TV, it has been quite an exhausting experience to see the number of ads for Kent and Marie urging us to vote one way or the other. Two years ago Kent was endorsed by Trump and picked up some outside money, but since the national folks thought he was a shoo-in, not much. Marie on the other hand had nearly no support from the national level. Even so, she ended up squeaking to a narrow victory. This happened because moderates from both parties voted for her, and far-left Democrats felt occasional support is
better than blatant antagonism. Whereas only MAGA Republicans could support Kent, and traditional conservative Republicans felt occasional bipartisan support from small-business-Marie is better than over-turning their values. One thing has changed this time around: Marie has demonstrated through her congressional voting record, her bills supported, her “mobile office” outreach, and newsletters that she was a great choice to represent us independently. Kent, however, has doubled down on his support of the Republican presidential candidate and has again been rewarded with the MAGA-Trump endorsement. This has led to a lot of money for a huge TV-ad fight for us to endure: bipartisan-working-for-us-vs-MAGA-right-extremism.
Watch the TV ads as much as you can put up with, and do your homework on the candidates. I am voting for Marie because I want to see an end to the extreme D-vs-R divisiveness of the past 10 years, and I want Congress to get to work in a bipartisan way to solve the many really big issues facing this country.
