PUD meeting notes

At the September 17, 2024, meeting of the Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the agenda, minutes, and Electric and Water Vouchers. They also unanimously supported September 25 as “Doug Condon Day” to commemorate his faithful service to the Wahkiakum County PUD for 17 years. Thank you, Doug!

The PUD will host the PUD and Town of Cathlamet Consolidation meeting on Wednesday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the River Street meeting room—everyone in the county is encouraged to attend. Town and PUD staff are working together to create possible budgets, rates, and foreseeable benefits for the residents of Wahkiakum County and the Town of Cathlamet.

The PUD Board unanimously approved Resolution No. 1290 to adopt the District’s Code of Conduct for Public Meetings.

The General Manager presented several items that covered the Skamokawa spring project, Puget Island well project, and the Seal River road project.

Name badges will be created for staff and commissioners to get the proper government rate at hotels for all their travels to conferences and over-night meetings.

There has been some public push-back when Commissioners are together in a group outside of regularly scheduled meetings. The PUD attorney made it clear that if the commissioners are in a social setting and not discussing PUD topics, they are more than welcome to meet anywhere at any time.

The public comment addressed public records requests, code of conduct, contractors accessing Puget Island Fire Station Water, Land Development, and tours of the Town of Cathlamet water and sewer plants with PUD Commissioners.
