Stella to hold annual history event

The Stella Historical Society is holding its annual "Remnants of the Past", celebrating local history on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the museum complex at 8530 Ocean Beach Hwy.

The public is invited to view new exhibits, like the restored buggy, a boat cleat from the Nora tug boat based at Stella, several items from Gid Hedrick's store and see a working blacksmith. Museum docents will be present to share information about artifacts and to answer questions.

At Stella Lutheran Chapel at 124 Sherman Rd., 2 miles up Germany Creek Rd., you will find a farmer's market/bake Sale, historic pictures, raffles, vendors demonstrating their crafts, including Cindy Faubion making lye soap and food for purchase.

You will also be able to purchase Society merchandise such as: History of Stella, Oak Point, Eufaula and Coal Creek, volumes I, II and III (our latest), 2025 historic calendars, postcards and note cards.

The Stella Museum is located 10 miles West of Longview on Ocean Beach Hwy. All buildings at each location are handicapped accessible. Suggested Admission donation is, Adults - $5, Kids 5 - 12 years - $2, kids under 5 years - free.
