Washington State primary results

Ballots for the August 2024 election have been submitted and Wahkiakum County’s voter turnout came in second in Washington State with 52.39 percent of voters turning in a ballot. Lee Tischer was elected County Commissioner #1, garnering 71 percent of the vote. Running unopposed, Dan Cothren was elected County Commissioner #2. Democrat Maria Cantwell won 43.17 percent of the Wahkiakum vote for Senator and 57.49 percent statewide over Dr. Raul Garcia. For Congressional District 3, 45.95 percent of Wahkiakum residents voted for Marie Gluesenkamp Perez over Joe Kent at 43.59 percent, she received 44.59 percent statewide. For Governor, Wahkiakum gave Dave Reichert 34.07 percent of the votes and Bob Ferguson received 29.42 percent of the votes. Statewide, Bob Ferguson won 45.15 percent of votes and Dave Reichert won 27.52 percent. For State Representative One, Jim Walsh garnered 59.92 percent of the Wahkiakum vote, Mike Coverdale brought in 40.08 percent. Statewide, Walsh won 59.67 percent of votes and Coverdale took 40.21 percent. Wahkiakum County gave Joel McEntire 59.17 percent of its votes and Terry Carlson received 38.53 percent. Statewide McEntire received 58.46 percent, 38.07 percent for Carlson.
