4-H food drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul food bank

The Robo Rascals 4-H Club will be putting on a food drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Bank in Cathlamet. The drive will run from July 22 through Aug. 2. This group of students ranges in age from five to 14, and meet twice a month after school to learn about robotics, electrical, engineering and design for 3D printing. Each year they do a community service project and this year the students wanted to help the food bank.

Drop boxes will be available at the following locations: WSU Wahkiakum County Extension 4-H Office, Puget Island Fire Hall, Cathlamet Fire Hall, Cathlamet Market, Dollar General, and Cathlamet Pharmacy. It is asked that all non-perishable food items be within the expiration date. Other donated items can be: canned goods such as tuna, chicken, fish, ham, SPAM, soups, stews, chili, sauces, noodles, fruit, beans, veggies. Items like peanut butter, jam, fruit cups, applesauce, nuts, crackers, granola bars, dry foods like rice, pasta, beans, etc., or box meals (Hamburger Helper, etc.). Personal care items are also needed: shampoo, soap, laundry soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, razors, shave cream, feminine hygiene products, and over the counter medication. Robo Rascals appreciates community support in helping those in need.
