Margaret Sylvia Strueby, of Longview and former longtime resident of Cathlamet, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 13, 2024, one day short of her 89th birthday.
Margaret was born in Camas, WA on April 14, 1935, to parents John and Hope Brown. She, being the oldest of six children, grew up in Kelso, WA and attended local schools there. After graduating from high school, she worked as a legal secretary in Longview. Margaret married Dale Strueby in 1955. In 1966 they moved to Cathlamet, where together, they raised three children - Frank, Lisa, and John. Margaret was a kind and generous woman who was active in her community. She was the owner of Margaret's Flower Shop, served on the PUD commission, and was a member in Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.Margaret is survived by her children, brother Roger (Joyce), sisters Molly and Hope, grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service is planned at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Kelso April 25, 2024 at 11:30am followed by a Celebration of Life at Cowlitz County Events Center in Longview from 1 - 5pm.
