Comets shoot into post season

The Naselle Comets football team begins their post season this week with a loser out game against Quilcene on Friday at 6 p.m. at home.

If they win, they will head to the first round of the state 1B football tournament, scheduled for November 10-11.

The Comets beat Quilcene earlier this year, 66-40. They have an 8-1 record and are in second place in the Columbia Valley/PAC-5 league.

The Naselle volleyball team began district play earlier this week, beating Oakville in three sets.

They followed with a loser out game against Firm Foundation on Wednesday. A score was not available by press time. The winner goes on to play Mary M. Knight today (Thursday).

The Comets are in third place in the Columbia Valley League with a 10-7 record. They beat Firm Foundation twice this year in three sets during the regular season.
