Charles "Marshall" Myers passed away peacefully at home in Cathlamet on August 30, 2023. He was born in Hoquiam, WA on July 15, 1926 to Charles and Alice Myers. Marshall lived most of his life in Longview and Castle Rock before moving to Cathlamet in 2008.
He attended R.A. Long High School and was a member of the swim team. In 1944 he joined the Marine Corp where he saw action in Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa. He served proudly as a marine and was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned home and married Joyce Sim. They raised four children and he retired from Pacific Northwest Bell after 37 years.
Once retired, Marshall enjoyed many summers working as a deckhand with both his son and son-in-law in Alaska, fishing commercially for both salmon and halibut. He never met a stranger and was a good friend to many.
Marshall loved following his grandchildren's sporting events and seldom missed an event. He and Nora Lee loved a good road trip and shared many good times traveling the western United States, but his most memorable trips were to Hawaii.
