Kids get hands on experience with large big trucks at PTO event

On Saturday, the Wahkiakum School District Parent Teacher Organization got off to a rousing start with what they hope will become an annual event, called a Back to School Touch a Truck. The event allowed youngsters to get a hands-on opportunity with a variety of large vehicles including an ambulance, more than one fire truck, a sheriff's patrol vehicle, a dump truck, and more. Sirens and horns were a huge hit with the kids, as well as a ropes course set up by a Longview Boy Scout troop. Photos by Diana Zimmerman.
