Trena and Ralph Ashe, of Rosburg, attended the 2023 Wahkiakum County Fair. Trena has only missed one fair since she was eight years old.

Wahkiakum County Fair royalty this year were left, Ellie Gilbert, 12, and right, Lydia Blalock, 18. The one to raise the most money for the fair is named queen. This year, Blalock took top honors.

It was a busy three days at the Wahkiakum County Fair, with crowds of people stopping by to visit with friends, enjoy some music and entertainment, games, food, exhibits, and all the animals. Lydia Blalock was named Fair Queen, the Washington State Dairy Princess visited with some youngsters raising cows, and the Youth Barn won a Washington State Fair Commission award. It was so great, even a black bear made an appearance, over in the campground area.
