Do you have any interest in performing or singing in a play or musical?
On Thursday, September 7, Joe Baker will hold a meeting to gauge interest in a community performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol during the holidays.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., and will be held in what was the Cathlamet Community Center, the meeting room below the Cathlamet Library.
Depending on turnout, auditions for several speaking roles and a choir will begin that night. All interested Wahkiakum County residents, regardless of age and experience are invited.
Baker is also looking for a sound person to provide sound effects, as the play will be performed as an old fashioned radio show. A piano player is lined up, and if Baker can find a way to record the program, KMUN has already agreed to broadcast the performance, he said.
“It’s a real deal,” Baker said. “It’s going to be a great time.”
Baker is a recent addition to Cathlamet and a member of the town council. He had a career spanning decades running a successful family theatre program in Auburn. For more information, call or text Baker at 253-797-0080.
