Wahkiakum senior Landon Nielsen placed seventh in the high jump, clearing 5-10, and ninth in the shot put with a throw of 43-5.5 at the State 2B Track & Field Meet in Yakima last week.
At the State 1B Track & Field tournament that took place simultaneously in Yakima,
the Naselle boys finished in the top eight in the following events:
400 meters — 2. Derek Suomela 51.65; High jump — 4. Suomela 5-10, Discus — 5. Elmer Toftemark 113-4, Pole vault — 3. Jacob Pakenen 12,
The Naselle girls finished in the top eight in the following events.
Javelin — 8. Bella Colombo 103-10; Pole vault — 3. Colombo 8-9, 6. Bella Dunagan 7-6; High jump — 4. Mylee Dunagan 4-10; Long jump — 6. M. Dunagan 15-2; Triple jump — 5. M. Dunagan 32-3.5
The Naselle girls placed 11th in team competition with 22 points, and the boys scored 30.5 points for ninth place.
