Graduates are ready to move forward

Information on times and places

Next week, senior classes from Wahkiakum and Naselle High School will be taking their turns on stage to celebrate their respective graduations.

Wahkiakum’s Class of 2023 will hold their graduation in the football field again this year and this time, students will sit in the field while guests will watch from the grandstands, extra bleachers, and folding chairs.

The event takes place on Friday, June 9. Guests are welcome beginning at 5:30 p.m., and graduation will begin at 6 p.m.

The motto this year is “Individuality makes us different; respect brings us together. Class of 2023 Forever.”

Prior to the big event, the senior class is headed to Seattle for their senior trip on Wednesday. They will enjoy a senior breakfast at Patty Cakes on Thursday morning followed by a graduation practice in the gym. At 1 p.m. on Thursday, there will be an in school graduation parade and scholarships/awards assembly in the high school gym.

Naselle’s Class of 2023 will hold their graduation in the Lyle Patterson Gymnasium at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10.

The senior class will enjoy two days in Sun River next week. They’ve already held their Baccalaureate and their annual Evening of Excellence took place on Wednesday.

This year’s class motto is from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
