Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Town of Cathlamet is installing an ornamental ironwork fence at the Cathlamet Pioneer Cemetery and a crew from Vancouver Graniteworks is expected to arrive soon to begin resetting headstones. According to Mayor David Olson, the town is also working with the Chinook Indian Nation on a memorial to recognize unmarked Chinookan graves. Olson expressed gratitude to Public Works Superintendent David McNally and his crew for their work, and Town Treasurer Sarah Clark for managing the grant from the Washington State Heritage Capital Projects Fund.
