Farmers Market begins May 26

Summer is coming and so is the Elochoman Slough Marina Farmers Market, which starts next Friday, May 26.

The market opens every Friday from 3-6 p.m. through September 1 at the Elochoman Slough Marina, and after hearing from the public, it was decided that the trunk sale will continue.

“A lot of people liked it that way,” Organizer Mackenzie Jones said.

As of last week, 11 vendors were confirmed, including a couple new vendors that Jones is excited about. Vendors will be selling eggs, hand sewn gifts, honey, soaps, art, jewelry, and more. Fernando will be back with trees and plants, Jones said, and she is also expecting a coffee roaster, and candle maker.

Kelly Patterson from Wahkiakum Health and Human Services will be there to talk to seniors about vouchers that will help them save money when they purchase produce at the market.

Jones is still waiting to hear from other potential vendors.

“I want to make the market as big as possible, so there is always something to look at, and the vendors and customers are happy,” she said.
