Nora Jeanne Bain died April 22, 2023. She was born in Portland, Ore., November 19, 1946 to parents Jack Pannell and Elisabeth (Betty) Jeitz. At a young age they moved to Longview where she spent most of her life.
Nora graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1964. She had two children from a previous marriage, Brian (Alisa) Bean and Tim Bean. Nora married Jerry Bain in 1987, he had three children from a previous marriage, Tari Peterson, Greg (Barb) Bain and Angie Bain. After their marriage Nora made sure it was all one family.
She loved family gatherings for the holidays or whenever. Nora enjoyed going to their house at Long Beach, clam digging or just walking on the beach with her dog, Sadie, and having friends to come and join them. Nora especially loved her grandchildren and animals.
After retirement they took several road trips around the western U.S. with close friends Jack and Gwen Gorley.
In 2014 that horrible disease Alzheimers began taking over her. In 2017 they moved to Cathlamet to be near family. In 2019 as the disease progressed Jerry moved her to an adult care facility (The Walker Houe) in Longview where she received excellent care.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marylin Hannah. Nora is survived by her husband Jerry, all of her children, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the Steele Funeral Chapel, Longview Memorial Park at 1 p.m., May 12.
