The Naselle Comets track team competed at 2B/1B Meet in South Bend on Thursday with seven other teams. Naselle scored 36 points to take sixth place in girls’ competition, and 56 points to take sixth place in boys’ competition.

The top six finishers for the boys include:

800 meters — 1. Derek Suomela 2:16.83; 1600 meters — 6. Jacob Pakenen 5:51.13; 4x100 meter relay — 6. Tyler Kirkman, Justin Moncy, Brayden Colombo, Jayden Ding 51.68; 4x400 meter relay — 3. Ding, Pakenen, Moncy, Suomela 4:16.21; Shot put — 4. Kirkman 39-7; High jump — 2. Suomela 5-8; Long jump — 1. Suomela 18-6.5, 3. Pakenen 17-3.

The top six finishers for the girls include:

100 meters — 5. Bella Colombo 14.53, 6. Bella Dunagan 14.64; 200 meters — 6. Colombo 30.11; 100 meter hurdles — 4. Colombo 19.43; Javelin — 1. Colombo 87-1; High jump — 3. Dunagan 4-6.

On Tuesday the Comets competed in a 1B/2B/1A meet in Ocosta, and they head to the Kalama Twilight Invitational on Friday.

The Wahkiakum Mules track team attended a league meet in Winlock on Tuesday. Their next meet is Thursday, April 27 in Elma.
