Lighted Parade to be held December 10

Submitted by Paige Lake, Parade Organizer

The Wahkiakum Lighted Christmas Parade and Holiday Market will take place at the Elochoman Slough Marina in Cathlamet on Saturday, December 10.

The event starts at 3 p.m., at the Marina and River Mile 38 Brewing Co., with the Holiday Market and Craft Beer Garden. At the market there will be food vendors and handcrafted items perfect for holiday gift giving.

Fun activities are planned for the whole family. Enjoy a hot cocoa while kids craft a holiday ornament, and take a picture with Santa in the photo booth.

For adults, the brewery will serve a festive mulled wine along with their classic brews.

The parade will start at 5 p.m., at the marina.

For those who want to participate, anything you can put lights on can be entered in the parade, including tractors, lawn mowers, cars, trucks, trailers, boats, floats, horses, dogs, people; you name it. How about a wagon of carolers or a lighted hayride? Boats are also welcome to light up the marina and the nearby river. The parade entry fee is $5, or free to all First Responders and Veterans. Proceeds will benefit the local Stars Program.

If you would like to be a market vendor the Port District 1 fee is $10.

Parade applications are available at Bank of the Pacific Cathlamet Branch, or contact organizers to get one. Vendor applications are also available by contacting lightedholidaymarketparade@gmail.com or Paige Lake (360) 269-6737. Participants are urged to get their applications in early.
