Angelo Mourelatos 56, died October 13, 2022 at his home in Cathlamet. He loved life in Cathlamet for the last five years, where he fished and made friends.
Angelo was born in Athens, Greece on January 19, 1966 to Gerasimos and Vasiliki (Leontis) Mourelatos. As a young man his family came to Portland, Oregon where he attended school and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1984. He joined the Navy after high school and came home to work as an auto mechanic for many years in the Portland area.
His family remember his “bigger than life” personality and his love for the Columbia River, fishing and all things involving the water. His rottweiler, Maya, was special to him as were the San Francisco 49ers. Angelo is survived by his wife Rene, two stepsons, Andrew and Daniel Morris; a brother Michael Mourelatos; several grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Friday, October 21 at Dowling Funeral Home in Cathlamet at 2 p.m. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
