Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
To The Eagle:
A question we often hear is: " I don't like more taxes, but since this is not a property tax, and since rebuilding our emergency radio system is vital, I am for it. How do we really know the money won't be siphoned off to pay for something else?"
The short answer has two parts: 1) State law says it can't be used for anything else: RCW 82.14.420. Look it up. 2) the county prosecuting attorney is required to verify the correct use of any money spent from this, and to sign his name to it.
If you have any other questions on the Wahkiakum County Emergency Radio System initiative, please contact the Sheriff's office (360-795-3242) or your local fire hall. Or, email us at WahkiakumVotes@gmail.com.
Please vote yes on the WCERS initiative in November. Thank you.
