Arlie Fauver Sanders, 96, longtime Grays River resident, died July 12, 2022 in The Dalles Oregon. She was born May 6, 1926 in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada.
When she was 20 years old she moved to Wahkiakum County. Arlie married George Fauver who preceded her in death in 1972. After George passed, Arlie moved to Arizona where she met and married Hod Sanders, in 1980. Arlie enjoyed life on the ranch in Globe, Arizona until retirement and then they moved to Young, Arizona. Hod passed in 2002 and Arlie moved back to Grays River. She opened the Wannabe Cafe and enjoyed the cafe for several years until she sold it to retire. Arlie loved playing cards with her friends and she enjoyed animals. In 2018, Arlie moved to Astoria to Astor Place Assisted Living. She spent the last two months of her life in the Dalles, Oregon.
Arlie is survived by her three children, Keith Fauver of Pillar Rock, Carol (Bob) Harthun of White Salmon, Larry Fauver of Arizona; a sister Erma Allen of Canada; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the Grays River Cemetery Saturday September 17 at 1 p.m. Celebration of life to follow at the Rosburg Hall. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
