Cathlamet Public Library's summer reading program kicked off Wednesday June 22 with kids listening to stories and creating sea turtles and crabs from seashells. They could also design and decorate their own sea star. This Wednesday, June 29, had stories from the ocean's Midnight Zone, and painting an ocean zones picture with tempera paints.The next session is Wednesday, July 6 from 1-2 p.m., at Erickson Park for children ages 5-15. They will hear stories on the theme of Shipwrecks and Lighthouses, build an aluminum foil boat to see how many pennies it can float, and start making a jellyfish.
