Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Container ships make their way up and down the Columbia River on a regular basis, but at 1,100 feet in length, the Navios Unite is reportedly the largest container ship to do so. It is capable of carrying 8,200 containers, much more than 6,000 carried on other container ships, which are usually less than 1,000 feet in length. Thanks to Joanne Rideout at https://shipreport.net who alerted readers to the spectacle.
