Two more cases reported; county total stands at 303
There were two more cases of covid-19 reported in Wahkiakum County this week, bringing the cumulative total to 303 official cases. Nine of those are considered potentially active.
There were 20 patients being treated for covid-19 at St. John Hospital on Tuesday.
The Washington Department of Health is reporting 24 hospitalizations and five deaths attributed to covid-19 in Wahkiakum.
It is also reporting that 72.7 percent of the state’s population age 5 years and up is fully vaccinated while the percentage of the same population in Wahkiakum is well below that number, at 50.6 percent.
Vaccinations continue to be available for anyone age five and up in Wahkiakum County.
Moderna vaccines are being offered to patients at the Wahkiakum Clinic, and at the Cathlamet Pharmacy. Call to make an appointment.

WHHS is confirming that there is active community spread in the county, and continues to advise people to wear their masks, social distance, and to get vaccinated.
