Mules named to all-league teams; Garrett is girls coach of the year

The Central 2B League coaches have voted on all-league honors for players and coaches.

All told, there are nine girls playing basketball at Wahkiakum High School this year, and five of them were recently honored by coaches in the Central 2B League.

Wahkiakum Lady Mules Coach Rob Garrett has been named coach of the year for the second year in a row. Reigha Niemeyer is co-most valuable player along with Addison Hall from Winlock. Miya Kerstetter and Megan Leitz were named to the first team; Emerald Niemela made the second team, and Courtney Carlson made Honorable Mention.

Two Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball players were recognized for their play this season.

Junior Brodie Avalon was named to the second team and sophomore Zakk Carlson was given an honorable mention.
