The Wahkiakum High School volleyball team started district play on Saturday after ending their regular season with a win last Wednesday.
The Lady Mules hosted Toledo on Wednesday and won the match in three sets, 25-12, 25-7, and 25-10.
Megan Leitz had five kills and Courtney Carlson had four kills. Miya Kerstetter had three kills, five aces, and five digs. Libero Reigha Niemeyer had six digs and served four aces.
It was the final home volleyball game for Leitz, Carlson, and Emmie Niemela.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Kalama for the first round of district games.
In the morning, they beat South Bend in three sets, 25-8, 25-23, and 25-19, and later that afternoon, they lost to Kalama in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, and 25-11.
The Lady Mules faced Napavine in a loser out game in Onalaska on Wednesday afternoon. The winner would go on to play in another loser out game at 7 p.m. If the Lady Mules win both games, they will play again on November 6. Results were not available by press time, but will be posted on the Wahkiakum Eagle Sports Report on Facebook.
