The Wahkiakum Mules trampled the Toutle Lake Ducks in a 50-14 homecoming football game victory last Friday.
The Mules dominated the line of scrimmage and piled up 256 yards rushing while holding the visitors to 22.
Dominic Curl opened the scoring for the Mules with a 3-yard run in the first quarter. Gabe Moon followed with a 9-yard touchdown, and Curl closed the quarter with a 14-yard run.
The Mules put the game out of reach in the second quarter, which ended with the Mules ahead 35-6. Curl scored on a 40-yard run; Jerimiyah Johnson caught a Brodie Avalon Pass for a 53-yard touchdown; and Elijah Cothren scored on a 28-yard run and kicked a 45-yard field goal as time expired.
In the third quarter, Johnson scored on a 16-yard run, and Cothren kicked a 31-yard field goal.
Curl gained 101 yards on five carries and completed one of two passes for 45 yards. Moon picked up 64 yards rushing, and Cothren had 40. Avalon completed six of 10 passes for 104 yards and one touchdown. Johnson had two receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown; Tanner Collupy caught three passes for 46 yards, and Moon had one 5-yard reception.
Cayden Mendez played really well on line and Dominic Curl played well in backfield, said Mule Coach Ryan Lorenzo, adding, "Gabe Moon ran hard all night!"
The 3-2 Mules take on the undefeated and fifth ranked Kalama Chinooks this Friday in Kalama.
