According to information received from the Wahkiakum Votes 2021 team members, consisting of Mary Vik, Deb Lincoln, Phyllis Wesley and Ron Wright, a voter education forum will be held Wednesday, September 22, beginning at 7 p.m. David Olson and Robert Stowe will respond to questions posed by the community. Citizens are asked to send any questions to them at WahkiakumVotes@gmail.com with "Question" in the subject line. The forum team will review all questions received before September 21, and possibly modify the questions to fit the format, before asking them of the candidates. No questions will be accepted during the event.
The forum will be transmitted live on Zoom, and, with a 30-second delay on their YouTube channel "Wahkiakum Votes 2021." To reserve a place on the Zoom feed email them at WahkiakumVotes@gmail.com with "Zoom" in the subject line. The recording of the event will remain available on YouTube through the November General Election.
The forum will be held at the Pioneer Community Center. They can accommodate about 40 people. Attendees must agree to follow the CDC and Wahkiakum County Health Department covid precautions: social distancing, masks, etc. To reserve a seat at the Pioneer Center, email WahkiakumVotes@gmail.com with "Seat" in the subject line.
Send questions to press the candidates on their vision and plans for the future of Cathlamet and Wahkiakum County. All county residents are welcome to attend and to send in questions, whether or not they are a voter in the Town of Cathlamet.
