County establishes walk-up covid vaccination clinics

Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services (WHHS) has set aside time and staff to provide, no appointment necessary, walk-up vaccinations for covid-19.

The vaccinations will be available from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.

The vaccinations will be available at the health department located in the basement of the courthouse at 64 Main street. Parking and entrance are available on the River Street side of the courthouse. WHHS will be providing the Pfizer vaccine during these times.

Clinics open to anyone age 12 or above without an appointment. This will be ongoing, except for holidays, until further notice.

WHHS can be reached at 360-849-4041, M-F 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for any questions or concerns.

Vaccines are available to anyone 12 or older in Wahkiakum County.

Health officials say getting vaccinated is the best possible protection from covid-19. WHHS encourages everyone who hasn’t already been vaccinated to contact the Health Department or their personal medical provider and get scheduled to get a vaccine.

There is active community spread across Wahkiakum County. WHHS is urging citizens to practice safety measures such as social distancing, staying at home, wearing a mask if you have to socialize, and restricting activities to household members only.
