Laurel Abrahamson

Laurel "Abe" Abrahamson, 84, of Cathlamet WA. passed away at the hospice Ctr. in Longview, WA. Febuary 27, 2021. He was born February 23, 1937 in North Dakota to Ray and Ida Abrahamson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bobby Abrahamson of Silverton, OR and a son Roger Abrahamson of Anchorage AK.

Abe enjoyed reading his country western books and listening to his classic country music while being a longtime manager of the Riverview Apt. complex in downtown Cathlamet. My dad was a people person and he enjoyed interacting with the residents and car pooling those around who needed a lift. While managing the apts. my dad also took care of two camels and alpacas on Puget Island for approx.10 years. Previously to managing apartments, Abe spent 27 years in the Mobile home industry and 10 years in the Lumber Industry.

Abe graduated from Molalla Union High School in 1956, and joined the army on February 25, 1957. Active duty 1st class private for two years. Five years in the reserves, honorable discharge.

Abe decided to get baptised some two years ago and was a member of the Church of Christ on Pacific Way in Longview, WA. He is survived by his children Laura Dyer of Cathlamet, WA. Nancy Christenson of West Linn, OR. Russell Abrahamson of Maysville, KY. and Ryan Abrahamson of Oklahoma City, OK. Also dad is survived by a sister Darnell Richardson of West Linn, OR and a brother Duwayne Abrahamson of Siletz, OR, another brother Wyman Abrahamson of Newberg, OR. Abe also had 10 grandchildren and two great granddaughters and many wonderful friends. All of whom he loved very much.

At this time Abe's family will be planning a private celebration of life.
