Wahkiakum Health and Human Services reported one positive test result for covid-19 on Friday, for a total of 39 cases. The individual is in self-quarantine, and there is no known connection to the school district or the daycare.
WHHS is working to identify anyone who has exposure risk following close contact with the individual. Anyone who is considered to have been in close contact will be notified by WHHS staff.
Active person to person spread is confirmed in the county, the press release stated. WHHS is “urging citizens to practice safety measures such as social distancing, staying at home, wearing a mask if you have to socialize, restricting activities to household members only, and considering holiday plans carefully."
