Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
According to information from NovaLee Knopp, Star Program Director, those needing help with providing Christmas gifts for children through the age of 17 need to fill out an application or contact the Star Program at 360-431-5232. This is a needs-based program and all calls will be handled discreetly.
Applications are available at the Sheriff’s Office or Health and Human Services on Elochoman Valley Road. Applications must be returned no later than November 23.
Because of the Covid pandemic restrictions, there probably will be more need this year. Residents are asked to take stars or monetarily donate. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and needed to provide for the stars that are not taken. Donations may be left at the Bank of Pacific in Cathlamet.
Trees will be displayed at local businesses from November 23 to December 14. Gifts will be ready for pickup from December 14 through December 18.
The trees will be at Bank of the Pacific, Cathlamet Pharmacy, Scribbles, The Video Store, The Duck Inn and Skamokawa Store.
Gifts must be returned by December 14 to the place where the stars were picked up.
