Summer reading program theme announced: Imagine Your Story

Readers ages 5-15 will explore all things imaginary (including fairytale and fantasy) this summer as Cathlamet Public Library presents “Imagine Your Story” during their reimagined summer library program. Due to COVID-19 issues limiting the number of people in the library at one time, there will be no in-person storytimes and activities this year. Parents are asked to attend their young child at all times while looking for library materials to check out. Older children may enter as individuals or in pairs.

Imagine Your Story program bags are available for pickup during the library’s open hours on the table at the front door, beginning July 1. The bags contain a reading log (to list titles or minutes read), book(s), an activity packet (with directions for theme-related crafts, mind puzzles, art projects, games, science/engineering experiments, etc.), a bookmark, contest information (entries due July 31), a coloring poster, and more.

Links to related stories, videos, and do-at-home activities will be posted periodically on the library’s website. Readers are encouraged to post photos of their favorite books and completed program creations on the Cathlamet Public Library Facebook page. All program bags are free of charge.

For more information, call the library at 360-795-3254 or visit their website: http://www.cathlamet.lib.wa.us.
