According to information received from the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments, Wahkiakum County is approaching the self-response rate it achieved during the 2010 Census and needs a final big push to surpass that goal. The county is currently sitting at 53.3 percent self response rate. Most, if not all, of Wahkiakum County residents should now have received at least one notice to respond to the Census. The process is easy and takes only about 10 minutes.

Everyone living in the county is required by law to be counted in the 2020 Census. Making that phone call or going online to complete the census are the easiest ways to meet this obligation.
A full count is crucial to the residents of the county. Citizens are asked to help get the word out to ensure Wahkiakum County is fully counted and receives an appropriate level of state and federal resources in the coming decade.
