Ernest Teachman

Ernest B. Teachman, Jr., 66, of Cathlamet, died April 1, 2020 at his home on Puget Island.

He was born May 24, 1953 in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Ernest and Betty (Wood) Teachman, Sr. His family moved to Washington and he graduated from high school in Mt. Vernon, in 1971. He then joined the US Navy and spent 17 years as a Seabee before his medical discharge in 1988. He moved his family to Cathlamet and went to work at the Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill in Longview, where he worked for 22 years. Ernie enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, clay pigeon shooting and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Pam, of 42 years, two daughters, Stephanie Toews-Cochran and Elizabeth Huskey and a son, Joey Teachman, four grandchildren and a sister, Holly Rehagen.

A memorial service and placement at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash., are pending. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
