Ivy Lou Vik (Fontana), of Cathlamet, WA, died January 12, 2020 at St. John's hospital surrounded by family. She was born October 11, 1945 in Vancouver, Washington to Ivy and E. Louie Fontana, to be the eldest of five siblings. She graduated from Mark Morris High in 1963 and then attended Lower Columbia College.
In 1974 she married Philip Vik. For over 40 years they ran Sunny Sands Farm on Puget Island where they raised Brown Swiss dairy cows. She was an active member of the Wahkiakum County Dairy Women and enjoyed representing them as a state officer.
Ivy Lou was also an active and enthusiastic member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 45 years. She cherished the friendships made with the women in this sorority group and always looked forward to meetings. She also worked as a florist, baker, church secretary and for the Wahkiakum School District.
Her children and grandchildren were the absolute light of her life. The mention of her grandkids always brought a vibrant smile to her face.
She is survived by her father Louie, husband Phil, daughter Danette Traver (Jeff), sons Kevin (Lacey), and Jeff, and nine grandchildren: Jeffrey, Mitchell, Kody, Ana, Tyler, Lane, Colten, Arthur and Andrew. Siblings: Rebecca Fontana (Tim), Mark Fontana, Vicky Irving (Skip), and Michalene Fontana. She was preceded in death by her mom, Ivy and son David.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Cathlamet, Washington on Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m.
