Horse Gaming Series

We have an exciting Silver Buckle series planned for 2020. With the continued help of our arena master, Mike Doan, we have more improvements planned for the arena this year.

With the help of Chuck and Cindy Cram, WAHSET coaches from Longview/Kelso, we have made improvements to our line up of events and our equipment.

Kay and Patty advised me that the Silver Buckle series would have to purchase their own timing equipment for the 2020 series season. They advised that the equipment we had been using would not be available in 2020. This has worked out great because the new timer will allow us to hook up to a computer program that will track all the results for all of the riders. A big thanks to Toomi from Long Beach for donating the program.

This new program means no more waiting for results. We should also be able to upload the results to our Facebook page. I'll let Toomi and Crystal figure that out.

Crystal Davis has been the Godsend I have been waiting for because she has set up a Wahkiakum Silver Buckle series Facebook page. This will get out series information as it becomes available. This will make it easier for riders, new and returning, to find us and the dates and times for our shows.

Information will be available in The Wahkiakum County Eagle just like last year. With the help of The Eagle, we were able to double our number of riders.

Also new this year, we are planning a start of series camp out, barbecue, and play day the Friday night before the first show in May. There will be a cost for camping. The play day is free. We hope to also be able to offer stall rental. I will have more information on that when I hear back from Patty.

There will be series high point prizes to each age division again this year. This was something we were lucky enough to add last year, thanks to our really great sponsors. This year, Troy and Cory Slobig are again sponsoring two silver buckles. These buckles are for 12-18 year old and 19-35 year old divisions. Prizes for the other three divisions will be posted as I receive them.
