Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Patricia (Pat) Sundahl age 77, of Kelso passed away December 14th, 2019 with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Shadow & Boots Burdick on July 9th, 1942 and grew up in Cathlamet.
Patricia married Martin Hendrickson in 1960 and had three Children, Debbie (Joe) Vessey of Olympia, Lisa Rose and John Hendrickson of Kelso, they later divorced in 1967. Patricia went on to find the man who would forever be on her "Last Nerve" She married the love of her life, Ed Sundahl and blessed the world with one more daughter, Pamela Sundahl of Kelso. Patricia and Ed made their home in Deep River, WA for 13 years until relocating to Montesano, WA and then back to Kelso in 2004 where they made their forever home.
Pat loved to tell family stories, the good and the bad, her infectious laughing to the point where she could hardly catch a breath would leave one begging for the next adventure to come out. All you had to say is "remember when" and without having to even think about it she would share in detail another chapter of her crazy wonderful life.
Patricia had such a good heart, she would give you the shirt off her back..... mainly because she had 75 more hanging in the closet with the tags still on them. Her love for shopping only came in second to the love of her family and her precious four legged, sweater wearing dog, Dolly.
Patricia will be well remembered for her love of karaoke, singing her favorite Patsy Cline songs, hanging out with old friends and forever making new ones with virtually everyone. Pat had a fun and vivacious personality that contributed to her always wanting to go and see more. She was always ready for the road trip to anywhere that family might be. The other road not "less" traveled but more traveled would be the one heading straight to the Casino, she loved to play the slots any chance she got, dressed in her finest making sure all jewelry, heels, purse and clothes matched perfectly, if she was to be a winner she needed to look the part, and that she did!
Patricia leaves behind the love of her life Ed, her four children Debbie, Lisa, John and Pamela, eight grandchildren: Blake, Steve, Timmy, Racheal, Joey, Chris, Patty and Miranda and six Great grandkids. She will also be missed by her beloved sisters: Trina Ashe, Joanne Gust, Merita Sturtz and her lifelong friends, Marvene Lane, Sharon Sperling and Patty Prestegard.
Pat is preceded in death by Parents: Shadow and Boots Burdick, Sister Margie Moore and Brother Traverse Burdick.
It would be wrong to say that Patricia lost her battle....because she never stopped fighting! When you think of Pat, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest!
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you stop at one of Patricia's favorite Casino's and win a jackpot while toasting to her!
