Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Linda Wright, above left, who retired from teaching a few years ago, returns each holiday season to help fifth grade students in Lisa Frink's classroom decorate the papier mache snowmen they have spent the last week and a half crafting. When I caught up with her on Tuesday, she was working with Hank Wilson, a student from Shelley Quigley's 4th/5th grade class. According to Wright, who used to teach the whole art lesson from start to finish, students have been making papier mache snowmen for about 15 years. Above right, a sampling of this years papier mache snowmen made by students in Lisa Frink's fifth grade classroom, waiting for wiggly or button eyes.
