Sheriff's Report, November 28, 2019

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 18 – 10:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen. 6:17 p.m. A child in Rosedale accidentally called 911. 7:10 p.m. A caller reported that an individual who appeared to be intoxicated was loitering at a Rosedale business, bothering customers, and asking for money. A deputy responded. 8:29 a.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver near County Line Park. A deputy made contact with the driver. There were no signs of intoxication, but he said he was tired after a long drive.

November 19 – 12:39 p.m. A caller reported an aggressive dog on Puget Island. 1:48 p.m. A Cathlamet parent said she wanted to press charges against a child who had been stealing money. 3:30 p.m. A caller reported that he had lost his military identification. 4:21 p.m. A caller reported that cows were loose on a Puget Island road. 5:08 p.m. A caller reported that a speeding vehicle had almost run him off of SR 4 near County Line Park. 6:10 p.m. A caller reported that an elk had been struck and injured on SR 4 near Grays River. The driver had left the scene. 6:19 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 6:42 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to aid an individual with a bad migraine. 10:08 p.m. A caller reported that minors were drinking in a yurt at Vista Park. Deputies responded, and subjects agreed to quiet down.

November 20 – 8:47 a.m. A caller reported that his ex-wife had come into his home, yelled at him for 20 minutes while she took a shower, and then left. She called later to claim her ex-husband had filed a false report. 9:38 a.m. The Grays River ambulance transported a Rosburg resident who was in pain and complaining of weakness to the hospital. 10:29 a.m. A caller reported that someone with a suspended license was driving east on SR 4. 10:39 a.m. A caller reported that she was being harassed by her soon to be ex-husband, who was sending her nude pictures even though she had asked him not to do so. 10:53 a.m. A caller was concerned about a potentially aggressive dog in the Elochoman Valley area. 11:09 a.m. The sheriff’s office received a report from Child Protective Services about alleged sexual abuse at an Elochoman Valley home. 12:11 a.m. A caller in Cathlamet reported that she was being harassed by a neighbor. 3:15 p.m. After purchasing a used canoe, a caller became concerned that it may have been stolen. 6:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with respiratory issues. 6:11 p.m. Deputies and a representative from the mental health department responded to a Puget Island home after a domestic disturbance was reported. An individual was taken into custody. 8:09 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a vehicle parked on KM, where an individual who had just had hernia surgery was complaining of pain.

November 21 – 10:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an unresponsive Skamokawa resident. 1:51 p.m. A caller reported seeing an individual wanted on an active warrant in the Beaver Creek area. Officers from the Department of Corrections responded and the subject was taken into custody. 2:12 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that his neighbor’s dog barked constantly. 4:01 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a circulatory issue. 10:41 p.m. A driver was cited for speed.

November 22 – 4:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen and was unconscious. 6:33 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen and hurt a hip. 10:06 a.m. A caller reported that a cow was loose and on a Puget Island road. The owner was notified. 11:43 a.m. A caller reported that a driver had high centered on a curb at a bank in Cathlamet. A tow was called. 4:06 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Elochoman Valley Road. 6:22 p.m. A caller reported that there was no water at an office just west of Cathlamet. It had been shut off for the weekend. 10 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had high centered on a property in the Rosedale area.

November 23 – 4:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen and may have injured her back. 12:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had collapsed. 12:55 p.m. A caller reported that a houseboat was adrift on the Columbia River. The Coast Guard was notified. They said they were aware and were not concerned at that time. 2:29 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that he had been threatened by a neighbor. 5:47 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 8:59 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area.

November 24 – 4:30 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had swerved into their lane on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 6:45 p.m. The Grays River ambulance provided a lift assist for a Grays River resident. 8:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was in a lot of pain.
